20 Minutes Till Dawn - Review
tl;dr: If you came here because you love Vampire Survivors, you found yourself a new shiny tool.
20 Minutes Till Dawn is, like it's free demo-version 10 Minutes Till Dawn, heavily focused on replayability and takes lots of inspiration from Vampire Survivors. So, it is by no surprise a very fun roguelite that also sports enough distinguishing features to feel fresh. The pixel artstyle is gorgeous, friendly to the eyes and reminds me of Ubermosh, with its dark yet shiny color palette and slight anime-aesthetics.
The gameplay requires the player to aim on it's own rather than shooting projectiles entirely based on your movement direction as Vampire Survivors handles it, which makes it a bit more active. Also, your character slows down while shooting which adds a slight yet heavily noticeable component and makes certain power-ups more valuable than they seem to be in the first place.Â
There are lots of power-ups, different characters and multiple builds to choose from, therefor save a lot of time for grinding and anchievement hunting. Bonus points for the nice soundtrack that doesn't feel to bad when starting all over again. And again. Highly Recommended.
